About

Hello and Welcome!

Hi, I’m Megan — a private Recreation Therapist based in the Guelph area, passionate about supporting individuals in living meaningful, connected lives through the power of leisure, creativity, and community.

With a background in creative arts and have experience in day programs, community care, and long-term care, I specialize in working with adults and seniors across a wide range of physical and cognitive abilities. I believe in a holistic, person-centered approach that not only focuses on individual well-being, but also on fostering community integration and a strong sense of belonging.

In addition to my professional work, I volunteer in senior ministry, where I support older adults spiritually and emotionally as they navigate life transitions. Through this work, I’ve seen firsthand how vital community connection is to the aging process — and I’m deeply committed to encouraging seniors to age in place and age in community, wherever possible.

My therapeutic approach is all about getting to know you — the whole you. I take the time to explore each client’s leisure interests, history, strengths, challenges, support systems, and goals. From there, we collaborate on a personalized plan that brings joy, purpose, and routine into daily life.

What truly energizes me in this work is discovering what lights people up — that unique activity or moment that makes someone feel seen, capable, and fulfilled. I see recreation not as a luxury, but as an essential part of healthy, connected living — especially as we age.

To provide high-quality, evidence-based care, I draw from a wide range of training and education, including a BA in Studio Art, a Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation, and certifications in GPA, P.I.E.C.E.S., SafeTALK, Montessori for Dementia, Foundations in Palliative Care, and PSW Certification. I’ve worked with individuals living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, developmental disabilities, acquired brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, and various mental health challenges.

At the heart of everything I do is a belief in the power of community — that everyone deserves to feel connected, engaged, and valued throughout every stage of life.

If you’d like to learn more or book a consultation for yourself or a loved one, I’d love to hear from you.

*Please note that Good People is dedicated to providing a welcoming, inclusive environment for all clients of all races, genders, religions, orientations, and identities, as long as we are a good therapeutic fit.
